Salmon: Showing Us the Way Home - Salmon Reintroduction
Salmon populations in NCW remain in decline, our only chance to prevent their extinction is through unified community support and action. This presentation will highlight the inspiring and collaborative approach taken by the Upper Columbia United Tribes (UCUT) to help salmon rediscover their habitats beyond the impassable Chief Joseph and Grand Coulee dams.

Join us for this webinar series on the 1st Thursday of Feb, Mar, and Apr 2022 to learn about NCW salmon and the work being done in our region to prevent their extinction. Cascade Fisheries, Cascadia Conservation District, and Trout Unlimited will present a new topic each month and provide open community conversations and ways to find your own role in recovering our iconic native fishes!

Songs of nature: a musical journey with our fish and wildlife with ken bevis, featuring keith kistler

Cost:$10 suggested donation to benefit North Central Washington Audubon Society and the Cascades Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group
Join us on October 24 at the Wenatchee Valley Museum for a fun program entitled, “Songs of Nature”, featuring Methow Valley singer/ songwriter Ken Bevis, Okanogan Valley guitarist, Keith Kistler (and other surprise guests) for an evening of original songs and stories about the fish and wildlife that make our world home. Program begins at 7 pm. There will be time to meet new people and connect with ones you already know and there will be refreshments.

speaker series: The columbia river rolls on - salmon homecoming: restoring a legacy to the columbia river

Presenting current research and efforts to reintroduce salmon above Chief Joseph and Grand Coulee dams that have blocked approximately 1200 miles of river habitat for the last 80 years. The program is moderated by Jason Lundgren and sponsored by Cascade Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group and Washington Water Trust.
Speaker Series: The Columbia River Rolls On - A vision for the future: Modernizing a Treaty to sustain a river and its people in the 21st Century

Time: 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm Cost: Suggested donation $5 Speaker panel discussion highlights the history, status and opportunities related to the historic Columbia River Treaty and its renegotiation. Panelists include Chelan County PUD General Manager Steve Wright, “A River Captured” author Eileen Delahanty Pearkes and John Sirois of the Upper Columbia United Tribes. The program is moderated by Museum board member Sara Rolfs and sponsored by the Wenatchee River Institute and the Cascade Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group. It is a part of the Wenatchee Valley Environmental Film and Lecture Series.
